People often ask me about the effects of alcohol on weight loss and exercise programs. The answer? It is not good.
What does alcohol do?
Drinking makes you attractive, witty and charming the opposite sex, according to studies from the Coors Research Institute (sorry, I did not ...). The reference for these studies
Just kidding. We both know that it is not necessary to add, almost nutrient-free calories to our diet makes us tired the next morning, lowersour inhibitions to junk food, dehydrated and our bodies. None of them is useful for a fat loss program.
In addition, alcohol has negative effects on metabolism, body composition, and recreation. It should come as no surprise that the more you drink more burning of fat cells is impaired. So drinking alcohol is not a wise choice when thin is always a priority.
Above all, the drinking of alcohol leads to you consume too many calories (both from the alcohol andthe poor food selection you) under the influence. They also hamper your recovery from exercise.
And man, you know how many calories bartender in some of these drinks pack? A simple beer 150 calories (equivalent to 1.5 slices of bread), while a glass of wine or a shot of alcohol is closer to 100 calories.
But then add the alcohol to a mixed drink like a margeurita or Pina Colada, and you are up to 500 calories per drink. This is the same as a largemac! And you never would with 2-3 Big Macs at a single meal to think, is not it?
Whether it is the holiday season or if you are on vacation, do not drink alcohol responsibly or not drink at all. Regardless of which expect that the normal consequences - a tired mind and body is not a fat burning machine.
